David Payne is an experienced trial lawyer whose practice focuses on the defense of personal injury claims in auto accident cases. Mr. Payne grew up in Austin and developed a passion for advocating while on varsity debate in high school. Mr. Payne earned his bachelor’s degree from Huston-Tillotson University, an HBCU in the heart of East Downtown Austin. After graduating, Mr. Payne attended South Texas College of Law in Houston where he earned his Juris Doctorate.
After law school, Mr. Payne worked as a plaintiff’s injury attorney in Houston and Austin before joining Skelton & Woody. Mr. Payne is an active member of the African American Lawyers Section of the State Bar, the Texas Trial Lawyers’ Association, and the Capital Area Trial Lawyers’ Association.
In his free time, Mr. Payne enjoys playing soccer, the gym, basketball, and spending time with his friends and family.
